Dig Safe Training & Certification  

NUCA of Washington's "Dig Safe Certification Program" provides training to contractors, excavators, landscapers, public works employees - anyone working with or around pipelines and underground utilities - to perform best digging practices adhering to Call Before You Dig Law (RCW 19.122) that went into effect January 1, 2013. The certification process will identify companies and field personnel who have taken the time to go through safe digging practice training and understand local and national laws relative to pipeline and underground utility preservation and safety.

Why Take This Course? 

NUCA of Washington has made contact with local pipeline and utility companies notifying them of this program. Our goal is to build recognition and promote NUCA of Washington's certified Dig Safe contractors/excavators as competent, responsible, and knowledgeable.  Be on the list of Certified Contractors/Excavators/Owners when local pipeline and utility companies emphasize Dig Safe training as part of their bidding criteria! Upon Completion of the Dig-Safe Certification Course and passing a quick review of topics covered, participants will receive both a Certificate of Completion and an ID card indicating successful completion of the training. Certifications are good for 2 years a which time a re-certification course may be taken for renewal.
